Anns Swimming School
On the first day and every day, please do not arrive too early. There is no need to arrive more than 10 minutes or so before your class time. Our parking is limited, so we would also like to ask that if more then one adult will be coming that you please try to come in only one car.
Do not park out on the street, ever! We want your car safely parked in our front yard. When you arrive, if there is not a spot, just wait out on the side in the grass (not in the middle of the street) until a spot opens up.
When you park, please park so that other cars are able to park in the spot next to you! Do not leave any purses or things of value in your car.
After you've parked, please go wait under the cheekee hut. Do not enter through the front door! This is also a private home.
*PLEASE be on TIME*
It is very important to be on time so that the class walks in together. This helps your kids to all walk in at the same time, so they feel like they are in the group. When you arrive late, it is very disruptive for your kids, the other kids and the teachers as well.
When your class is finished, we need everyone, every day, to leave promptly so that there is parking for the next class.
Please click on our weather policy page to find out more about what we do regarding bad weather.
Payment
Your balance is due on the first day of class, before your child goes in to their class. We only accept checks or cash. We do not accept credit cards.
Towel
You will need to bring a regular size towel for your child with their name on it. Nothing too big that will drag on the ground or cause them to trip or fall when they are walking. They will be bringing their towel in to the class with them every day.
Shoes, shirts, etc.,will stay with you.
No Goggles or Masks
They do not need or wear goggles in the pool, so please do not bring any with you. The only way we will let them wear them is if it is required by a doctor for medical reasons. We take pride in the fact that our water does not sting their eyes. We also want them to learn to swim without goggles and with their eyes open for safety reasons!
Do not bring water wings or any type of flotation gear with you. They will not be allowed to wear them.
Please do not make promises to them that they won't be going under the water. They will be putting their faces under water at least a few times, even on the 1st day. So you will just be breaking a promise to them if you tell them otherwise!
Hair
Girls and boys with long hair, or hair that will be in their eyes, must have their hair tied up and or pinned up and out of their faces before they go in to class. It takes time away from their lesson if they have to constantly wipe it out of their faces.
Non potty trained children must have a snuggly fit swim diaper on underneath their bathing suits.
Sunblock
Please do not slather sunblock on them right at class time. It will just wash right off if it wasn't applied at least 15 to 20 minutes before class. Be very careful not to put too much sunblock on their foreheads or around their eyes. No matter what they claim, most do and will sting if it gets in to their eyes.
Do not bring siblings, friends, cousins, etc., with you that are not enrolled in the class in hopes of having them swim. If the class is full and they can't swim, we hate to see them sad or disappointed if we aren't able to let them swim!
