***We re-opened this year on
June 8th! ***
We have made many changes to our school obviously, due to the virus, regarding how we run the school. An example of some changes- the classes are smaller, where you parents will wait and much much more due to the pandenic! So, many of the information on our pages has changed and some things are very different!
So,please read the "New Covid 19 Procedures, changes and more" page!
The pages regarding the weather and what to do if your children get sick, have for the most part stayed the same, but if you do have questions. please leave any of these in your voicemail when and if you leave a message and we'll get back to you ASAP!
Thanks!
Anns Swimming School
Hello to everyone!
We are so very excited about getting the kids back into or coming for the 1st time, to our swimming school!
We also want to let you know some of our new changes and procedures we have planned to help assure all of our safety and to keep within the guidelines of the social distancing, etc.,during this new world we're all living in!
Below are some of the changes that we have made, but if we have bad weather or your kids become sick during their session and what you'll need to do pages are basically the same! So please check those out if this happens during your kids time here!
Class size:
Due to and because of social distancing guidelines we will be reducing the number of students in every class. There will now be only 7 to 8 children per class, most likely dividing into 3 groups in the pool. A ratio of roughly 2 students per every instructor is our goal.
Instructor/kids Safety:
All instructors will be wearing clear facial shields, so that the kids will still be able to see their smiling faces clearly! And we will be cleaning, wiping down and doing our best to keep everything clean and sanitized continuosly throughout the day.
Dropping off/getting your kids into their class:
Again, due to social distancing guidelines: We will be trying a new approach here as well. First, we ask that you please not arrive more than 5 to 10 minutes before your class time and upon your arrival, just wait in your cars until class time! Then, at class time, wait beside your car with your kids. And you must be wearing a face mask any time you are out of your cars! One of the instructors will come to your car and escort your kids to the pool. Please have them already in their bathing suits and have a towel with their name somewhere on it when we come to get them. And please have their hair tied up/clipped up, away from the faces! Boys and girls! If it's constantly getting in their face it takes time away from their class if they have to keep getting it off of their face! We also suggest putting sunscreen and/or mosquito sprays on them before you leave your homes and at least 20 minutes before class time so it has time to absorb into their skin or it will just washes right off and they're not so slippery!
On Completion of the 40-minute class:
After the class is done, we will wrap your kids in their towel and escort them back to you to waiting beside your car! Do not come to the gate! We'll bring them back to your car! We also ask if possible, letting them go home in their bathing suit wrapped in their towel. If you do wish to change them into dry clothes, you will have to do this in or beside your cars. The less people wandering around, the safer!
Viewing and where parents/family are during your kids class and the number of family members allowed:
Again, for the safety of everyone we do ask that you wait in your cars during the 40-minute class. We feel this is the safest and we will not be having anyone in the cheekee hut area! Also, we're sorry, but only 2 family members allowed per family during your kids session here. If you do wish to take a peek during the class, you may come to the cheekee area fence line, just for a few minutes to take a look, but do not go under the cheekee or stay too long. And please remember to be courteous, just staying for a few minutes, giving other kids family members a chance to come view their kids as well and standing at least 6 to 10 feet apart! Face masks MUST always be worn!
Again, the less people wandering around the better and safer! So, please stay in your cars as much as possible!
Bathroom:
If your child needs help in our outdoor bathroom or needs a diaper change, we will come out to you to get you! If you need to use the restroom, we'll have soap and hand sanitizer there at the sink.
Non potty trained kids or recently potty trained
If you're child isn't potty trained (or has only been trained 6 months or under) they must be wearing a swim diaper that snuggly fits around their waste and legs! Nothing too loose that may let the poop get out!) and it must be worn underneath a bathing suit for additional protection!
Payment for the classes:
After we've gotten your kids into their class, one of us will come back out to you and collect payment from you and the signing of any paperwork we need from you. Remember, your kids payment is due in full on the 1st day! So, please don't forget to bring either a check or cash. We do notaccept credit cards!
On Both the Fridays:
We will not be doing Fridays as we did before, letting all or many family members come back poolside and view the class, but we will work out a way to have you be able to come in a few of you at a time for a few minutes each to watch the class. Again, we will be going by the social distancing guidelines here as well.
Weather and Illness policies
Please read the pages on our webite regarding what to do on bad weather days or if your kids get sick and how to be eligible for and how to schedule make-up classes if this happens during your session here!
Why we're making these changes:
We want to and are trying to do everything in our power that we can, and are doing all these changes in order to help keep all of us healthy and safe while letting your kids come and have a great time learning how to or improving on their swimming skills!
The one thing that will never change:
The one thing that will never change, is how much we love all of your kids and and our love of teaching them how to swim, how to be safe and have fun in every pool they swim in, during and after their time being here at Ann's Swimming School!
Please remember:
This is new and different way of life for all of us and we appreciate you all helping during your time here and as they say,
"We're all in this together"!
And hopefully we come out of this crazy pandemic time much stronger, caring people and learning just how much we all really do have to be thankful for in our lives!
Thank you!
Susie and Cornelia Truby and all of us here at Ann's Swimming School!!!
After your kids have taken their two week session, they will then be able to participate in our Maintenance Program! It runs from September to mid to late December so they'll be able to keep learning and advancing even more and to practice what they learned during their session! So, don't forget to check out the Maintenance Program page!!
